So Much To Tell You!!!!

OMG!!! Where to begin? First is an apology for the delay between blogs! It's been FOREVER since I wrote one of these. Why? Just so much been going on having a moment to compose my thoughts and sit down to type has been challenging! We are ever evolving and adding new things to the 'ole Salvage Goods I think daily!

First Order of Updates

We FINALLY had an official launch to our clothing line!!! It happened in our newly redesigned court yard to a big grand opening party!! We want to thank everyone that came out to support us, hang with us and drink wine together. We love each and everyone of you!! More designs are in the works! Nothing else like it anywhere, we are truly one-of-a-kind and working with a master seamster with over 40 years working for some of the biggest names in fashion. We are amazingly lucky to be working with him and the payoff is original garments that are masterly crafted and sewn by hand. Read more about what we are doing with it here: https://www.salvagegoodseaston.com/the-salvage-life-clothing-inc

Second Order of Updates

We can accommodate up to 30 people! We got a fridge, a bar and plenty of eye candy, byob and let us help you make it a time to remember! Third Order of Updates

Speaking of events and the courtyard, watch our news for planned and pop up events happening in our courtyard, we will give you plenty of notice. One the the planned reoccurring events that are now being "fleshed out" is haunted tours and haunt events starting at the end of summer, beginning of fall. Since we know this was Easton's First Jail, since we know many POW's during the Revolutionary War died here and since this is an antique store suffice to say we have had more than a couple run-ins with our permanent residents. We have been working closely with a paranormal team that have been here many times collecting and documenting what their equipment has captured and they agreed to run tours and event here to educate the public on the other side... the paranormal side! Are you an Amateur ghost buster? Want to be? Or just consider the undead your kind of people? Watch out for dates and times these events will be taking place! We will also be featuring local artists and musicians in our courtyard along with special collections we help curate with our customers.

Since I mentioned Jail!

If you didn't know it yet, we are home of Easton's First Jail! Built in 1755 this making it the third oldest building in Easton!!! We have learned so much about our home by sifting through records from the library, Sigal museum and online published books... the history is rich from being a safe haven from Native American attacks to a POW camp in Revolutionary war times. The doors in the back of the building are still the original jail doors from 1755! Still standing and still being used everyday! The basement? Well that's another story... that is were the cells of the jail resided! We are working on an education history tour to share with you! Once we have all the data we will let you know!! Afterall, what is antiques without the history? We love to educate!

Fourth Order of Updates

Let's reintroduce ourselves and what we been up to since the last time we chatted. Heidi, our gal that is usually always manning the fort everyday has been secretly going to school and now has emerged as an official Antique Appraiser! She went to the same school all the heavy weights in the industry went to, this includes the Appraisers for such companies as Sotheby's, Christy's, Copart and the list goes on... in fact its the same school many Museums seek out graduates from... this makes her "the real deal" Eventually we will be holding events that you can bring your antique or collectable to and have her officially appraise it with a COA. Heidi is also the inspiration behind our clothing line and courtyard rentals amongst many other things dancing in that busy brain of hers.

Carl, He keeps the store looking amazing! Never afraid of hard work, you can see him on his hands and knees making the store spotless to manning the POS to doing a ton of research on our pieces,,, when I say research, I mean a DEEP DIVE into establishing providence on items that we can impart to you when you relove one of our items. Giving an item history makes it personal.

Nicky, she is our social media guru!!! Have you checked out our Tik Tok channel? If not you should! She delivers content that is fun and educational. If anyone dove in that world you would be able to appreciate the amount of work it takes to make these videos for everyone to enjoy! This is on top of all the other social media platforms and being a good artist herself, upcycling many of our items to make One-of-a-kind pieces for you to enjoy!

Me? Rick? I live in the digital world, designing websites, advertising, t-shirts and physical keep sakes... I also am the resident "handy man" fixing or building things the store needs. We couldn't do this without the efforts of each and everyone of us and of course none of this happens without you! What we do is for you, to make coming into Salvage Goods not only a shopping experience, but an education tours and hopefully you leave feeling part of our family because that is exactly how we view you!!
